Water

This Passover, Repair the Sea is bringing sustainability to the Seder table with our new Miriam's Cup made from recycled plastic water bottles! In the Torah, Miriam (the sister of Moses) is most associated with water. It was Miriam who watched over Moses when he was a baby floating down the Nile in a basket to keep him from being murdered by Pharaoh. It was Miriam who led the people in song and dance after the parting of the Red Sea. And it was Miriam's Well that provided water for the Israelites through 40 years of wandering in the desert. This cup reminds us of Miriam's devotion to God and her dedication to our people.

The Hebrew text on the cup translates as:

"And Miriam called out to them 'Sing to the Lord, for God is exalted.'"

It also symbolizes the importance of water in the Jewish tradition while also challenging us to take action to protect the Ocean and waterways of the world. By repurposing plastic waste, we’re turning pollution into something meaningful, bridging tradition with environmental responsibility. Celebrate Passover and enhance your Seder table with a Miriam's Cup that tells a story of renewal, resilience, and repair!

All pre-orders will be shipped the first week of April to arrive in time for Passover which begins on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Made in-house by Tikkun HaYam from recycled plastic water bottles. The interior is sealed with food-grade polycryclic. Each Miriam's Cup removes 3 plastic water bottles from the environment.

Miriam's Cup

$36.00Price
  • A million plastic bottles are purchased every minute.

These water bottles are discarded and end up in landfills or our ocean.

It is estimated that by 2050, 12 billion metric tons of plastic will end up in landfills and the ocean will contain more plastic by weight than fish.

Keep a single use water bottle out of the Sea, and put it on your Seder table, by purchasing this unique Tikkun HaYam Miriam's Cup.

  • Because these Miriam's Cups are made in-house one at a time, individual products are not identical, and unique imperfections are to be expected.
