Immersive Experiences
Volunteer in Israel - June 2026

Join Jewish professionals ages 22-50 for a volunteer experience in Israel - on land and in the water. The eight-day trip will combine scuba diving with meaningful service. This unique program is offered in partnership with Repair the World and Taglit Birthright Israel. Cost is $1,500 per person. For more information or to register, email shalom@repairthesea.org.
Shabbat at Sea - August 14-16, 2026

Set sail for an unforgettable Shabbat experience on the open water aboard the Tall Ship Oliver Hazard Perry - where Jewish learning meets maritime adventure. Enjoy a weekend of Water Torah, maritime history, Jewish pirate lore, and Shabbat community. All-inclusive trip sailing from Newport, Rhode Island. Cost is $2,000 per person. Coral Restoration Classes

With I.CARE, students will learn about corals, their environment, human impacts, steps they can take to save these important ecosystems, visit coral nurseries, and practice outplanting corals on land.
Water Torah Education

Participants will learn about the Jewish connection to the Sea, Water, and the ancient texts that encourage us to be stewards of the marine environment today.
Mangrove Kayak Excursion

In the mangrove forests of the Florida Keys, students will paddle and navigate single and double kayaks, while learning about the important ecosystems, and the animals that call the ocean forests home.
Snorkeling

Non-divers are given the opportunity to see the coral reefs and marine animals while floating above. Led by a PADI Master Scuba Dvier Trainer, snorkelers are guided and educated about the marine environment.
Beach Cleanups

Inspired to take action by the Mitzvot Bal Tashchit, students clean local beaches as a Jewish act, and contribute to citizen science debris databases.
Scuba Diving

Non-certified divers can sign up to learn how to scuba dive from our PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. Certified divers will be led on a recreational dive, coral outplanting dives, and a Dive Against Debris.
Sea Turtle Hospital

Visit a fully functioning veterinary hospital for sick and injured sea turtles. The Turtle Hospital rescues, rehabs, and releases sea turtles in the Florida Keys.
Water Meditation

Following education about the Shemah and the oneness of water, students are led in a floating or snorkel based meditation.
Dive Against Debris

Certified Divers use their skills to gain a specialty certification, and learn how to safely and successfully remove trash from marine environments.
