Post-Dorian Debris Removal
Spring Break in The Bahamas.
March 15 - 21
If you're ready to work hard and make a difference, then join us for this very special trip. Hurricane Dorian wreaked destruction on the Bahamas, and captured the headlines for a couple week. Unfortunately, the news moved on to other stories, but the Bahamas are still digging out of the devastation. Hillel and Scubi Jew want to do our part to help our neighbors in the Bahamas during Spring Break. From March 15-21 we will be working with IDEA Relief in Marsh Harbor on land and underwater.
The trip will include daily excursions for debris removal underwater and on land, boat and shore dives, a Dive Against Debris Specialty Certification (for those who don't already have it), local Bahamaian cooking, tropical savannah exploration, and Water Torah from Rabbi Ed. As some of the first people to attempt underwater clean ups after Hurricane Dorian, you can expect a fun and exciting adventure.
This program is for certified divers and non-divers.
We will be leaving from Ft. Lauderdale on March 15th and returning on March 21st Cost is $800 and includes travel (from Ft. Lauderdale), food, lodging, scuba tanks and air fills. Divers are encouraged to bring their own scuba gear, but gear rental from Gulfport Dive Center is available for $100 for the week.
